Perplexed?
Perplexed?
By Nicki Hausman
Are you in a battle and sustaining wounds and gashes? Are you looking for a rescue or reinforcements yet no one is coming? Are you a child of God and thought He would have parted the red Sea and let you walk through on dry land by now? Do you question as to why God hasn't walked on your stormy water and grabbed you up?
Paul reveals the plan in 2 Corinthians 4:7-18, "But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. 8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. 16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."
Your burden may not seem light nor momentary. Death of your natural body might be imminent unless Jesus catches us up in the Rapture; yet ask the Holy Spirit to let you see the eternal purpose in this suffering. He will carry you through. He will draw others to Jesus. Don’t lose heart, dear child of God. You are not forsaken. He is with you in the fire of suffering. He will help you persevere and ignite your faith.
Hold onto the treasure.
