Can I ask you a question?
Kristi's Response-
This week during my devotion, I came across some questions that I thought were worth repeating. I am studying Gideon by Priscilla Shirer and she challenged me to answer a few questions, so I am passing them onto you. (These questions can be found on page 150 in her book Gideon.)
Do you have to compromise your convictions to indulge any person or action?
Does anything weigh more heavily in your decision-making process than the voice of the Spirit?
Do you have difficulty being content, joyful, or grateful without something?
Is there anything you cannot say no to, even when God is asking it of you for a season?
Do you automatically turn to something for comfort or relief when you're unhappy?
Does your mind immediately center on something as a solution when problems arise?
Why am I asking you all these questions? The answers will help you to determine if there is something you are placing above the Lord. Jesus declares for us to love the Lord will all our heart, soul, and strength (Matthew 22:37). It becomes impossible to love Him completely when we place other things, titles, people, or ambition in front of Him. When something else takes first place in our life, fears arise, stress overwhelms us, and discouragement robs us of our joy.
So, I would encourage you to honestly answer the questions- just between you and the Lord. He wants to reveal hidden things or motives, and set you free from them. He has a great plan for your life!
