Focus
Distractions: something that distracts, an object that directs one's attention away from something else.
Synonyms: bafflement, bamboozlement, befuddlement, bemusement, bewilderedness, bewilderment, confusedness, confusion, discombobulation, fog, head-scratching - Merriam-Webster.com.
Lots of distractions: phone, email, timelines, responsibilities, other’s expectations, and relationships. Easy to be overwhelmed and under rested, anyone? So, nothing new under the sun? Here’s an ancient truth in Isaiah 26:
2 Open the gates, that the righteous nation that keeps faith may enter in.
3 You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
4 Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.
Take a deep breath and let it out slowly. Did that say God will keep me in perfect peace in the middle of my drama, trauma, and hot mess? Yes, my dear, if you focus on Him and His Word.
Read that verse out loud slowly…focus on what your Heavenly Father is promising. Believe that for yourself. Now read it aloud again and insert your name. “You will keep ‘Jane’ in perfect peace as her mind is stayed (Focused) on You, Father.” Keep it up every hour today. Post your results.
Blessings!
