Red Sea Encounter

From the heart of Dr. Kristi:

Do you feel stuck or trapped today? Do you need divine intervention?

When Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, the Lord took them on a longer route because they would have faced the Philistines and encountered war before they were prepared. This would have triggered them to retreat to their past life in Egypt.

Then the Lord had them turn back and encamp. This was to give Pharaoh and his warriors time to catch up to the Israelites. The Lord already knew that the Israelites would be pursued by the Egyptians but the great I AM also had the solution ready.

While the Lord had a plan, the Israelites were unaware of it. When they saw the Egyptians, they panicked and were full of fear and discouragement. However, the Lord told them to quit crying out and move forward.

Hear the word of the Lord, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Ex 14:13-14.

We know the rest of the story. The Lord parted the Red Sea and the Israelites walked right through it and their enemy was swallowed up.

Today, this story brings hope and deepens our trust. When you and I can’t see the solution, we can trust the Lord who has already prepared the answer and way out. You might have stepped out in faith believing the Lord would come through, but haven’t seen the victory or fruit of your obedience. Maybe what you thought was to be your deliverance has appeared to bring only more pain and disappointment.

Dear friend, can I encourage you today (and myself also by the way) to be still and know that He is God? Keep moving forward even if you don’t see the way. That even though you might see no way out or no way forward, the Lord has a plan. Just take one step today. His glory will be revealed. It’s only a matter of time.

You haven’t missed God. You are right where you are supposed to be. Deliverance is coming. Today just might be the day that the obstacle is removed and your path clearly visible.
