What's in Your Clay Jar?
What’s in Your Clay Jar?
Nicki Hausman, Transformed Women Leadership Team & Prayer Team Member
So many times, the thought crosses our mind, “What on earth am I here for? What would God want me to do?” Books have been written about this topic, conferences speak to the subject, and mentors answer it often with mentees.
If you are like me, I think my influence doesn't make much difference in the big picture. We tend to minimize our potential and value. However, that’s not what the Scripture reflects in 2 Corinthians 4:6-7, "For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us."
So, what is the treasure you are carrying in your jar of clay? Is there a light of hope and love that shines out through the cracks and nicks of your common clay vessel?
Is there a sweet aroma pouring out onto the lives of those around you? Perhaps even a healing ointment that you carry to apply to the wounded around you…
Think of it, what do you have inside your jar of clay that can bring blessings to those near you and honor your Heavenly Father?
Thinking that you’re a cracked pot and of no value to the Master? Think again, dear one.
A cracked clay jar leaks out a lot of love’s light to dispel darkness….
Shine on!
