Life Coach

From the heart of Nicki Hausman- Prayer Team Member & Transformed Women's Leadership Team

People sometimes engage life coaches when they want the best career track or financial plan for their lives. Each one of us have blind spots and areas where we lack wisdom or knowledge. That is the reason it is imperative for us to gain perspective from an outside source.

As Christians, that outside source must be the Lord. The Lord wants His children to hear from Him so He sent His Spirit to direct us into truth and the best plan for our lives. Jesus stated this about the Holy Spirit in John 16:13 (NIV), "But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come."

Sometimes our Life Coach (God) reveals things that are difficult for us. But, we must choose who we will listen to and follow. Hebrews 11:24-26, "By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, 25 because he preferred to endure the hardship of the people of God rather than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin. 26 He considered the reproach of the Christ [that is, the rebuke he would suffer for his faithful obedience to God] to be greater wealth than all the treasures of Egypt; for he looked ahead to the reward [promised by God]."

Here is a quote from The Bondage Breaker by Neil T Anderson.
"It is far better to know that we are the children of God than to gain something in the world that we will eventually lose. Even if following Christ results in hardships in this life, He will make it right in eternity....Satan's ultimate lie is that you are capable of being the god of your own life- the ultimate bondage is to attempt to live as though his lie were truth. Satan is out to usurp God's place in your life. Every temptation is an endeavor by him to get you to live your life independent from God. Whenever you focus on yourself instead of Christ or prefer material or temporal values over spiritual or eternal values, the tempter has succeeded. The message of this fallen world is to inflate the ego while denying God the opportunity to take His rightful place as Lord. Satan couldn't be more pleased-that was his plan from the beginning."
